"St. Tropez is never far away!"

The concept of St. Tropez Bakery & Bistro was established in 2001 with the opening of our first bistro in downtown Encinitas. The combination of fine French cuisine, a splendid, soothing décor, and offerings of breakfast, lunch and dinner created a unique dining experience that was well received and made St. Tropez an instant success.

Based on the growth and profitability of this original location, the new St. Tropez Broadway Circle opened its doors a year later. This downtown setting confirmed the success of the St. Tropez concept and created a wider berth of clientele as diners embraced the idea of having a slice of the French Riviera right in their neighborhood. The next year we opened our third location as St. Tropez Bakery & Bistro began serving in Rancho Bernardo. This new location increased St. Tropez’s presence and created new marketing opportunities by drawing business lunch crowds and providing delicious pastries on the go.

With our continuous culture of quality and originality in our products while emphasizing aesthetically pleasing and unique atmospheres in our bistros, St. Tropez entered its next phase of expansion with its foray into franchising. With the opening at the One America Plaza building downtown followed by a second site in Hillcrest, a new franchise system was piloted as a possible new direction for St. Tropez. St. Tropez is planning further expansion through franchising and corporate stores with the focus on retaining the same quality and standards that have come to exemplify all that St. Tropez offers. With our strict emphasis on excellence and a structured approach to future locations, St. Tropez Bakery & Bistro will continue to provide its patrons with the finest cuisine treasures with a dash of French flair.

In 2004, St. Tropez opened a 10,000 square foot production facility conveniently located by Miramar Road. St. Tropez Breads and Desserts was created as the wholesale division to provide local cafes, restaurants, hotels, casinos and food distributors a large selection of high quality breads, pastries, desserts and cuisine. At this same time, Authentic Flavors Catering was created as the fine dining sister of St. Tropez. AFC specializes in off-site catering for private and corporate events of all sizes and has many European themed menus to fit any occasion. St. Tropez also began offering an extensive line of specialty cakes and wedding cakes for private clients and hotels.
